The highest quality materials available were used in the development of both the SP-W1000D and SP-W1200D subwoofers to meet Nakamichi's rigorous audio standards and provide longevity and consistency of performance even under hostile environmental conditions. Their versatile multi-application design ensures superb performance whether installed in a ported or sealed enclosure, or infinite baffle installations.

Due to these new materials and manufacturing techniques, Nakamichi engineers were able to create a breakthrough in subwoofer performance. The innovative Magnetic Flux Optimizing System (MAFOS) and the revolutionary Seamless Surround are just two of the remarkable technologies incorporated to deliver extremely high levels of musically. MAFOS is an exclusive method of more directly interfacing the magnet with the voice coil minimizing the loss of magnetic "flux" therefore increasing the efficiency of power transfer. The result is an increase in SPL capability due to a more efficient use of the amplifiers power output. The Seamless Surround is a method of totally integrating the cone directly to the driver basket. By doing this, high-linear frequency response is achieved as well as aesthetic beauty.
