BASIC OPERATING PRINCIPLE OF THE VARIABLE PITCH STOCKER MECHANISM
1.When the Disc 4 button on the front panel is depressed, the empty stocker slot 4 is moved into the standby position. Lightly inserting the disc engages the rails, automatically drawing the disc into the unit.
2.When the disc is in the play position, the swing arm moves in to set the magnetic clamp into place. The rails and the swing arm retract, and playback begins.

MAGNETIC DISC CLAMPING
The disc clamp plays a crucial role in ensuring stable rotation, a factor that Nakamichi's extensive research has shown to affect not only tracking precision but also, ultimately, sound quality. In the case of the MB-75, another major engineering challenge was the development of an effective clamping system that could be accommodated within the restricted chassis space. Conventional car CD players use springs or other means to hold the rotating disc in place with friction. Unfortunately, such methods enable harmful vibrations to be transmitted from the chassis to the disc. The MB-75 employs a novel Magnetic Clamping Chuck. This magnetic clamping system has no direct contact with the chassis. The disc is effectively isolated from external vibrations, resulting in precise, pure signal readout.

MOBILE CD PLAYBACK WILL NEVER BE THE SAME
Playing a CD in your car has always involved compromises. You played one disc at a time with an in-dash unit. Or, if you wanted multi disc playback capability, you installed a separate changer usually inconveniently located in the trunk. Nakamichi brings you good news: Those days are over! The MB-75 is the world's first in-dash receiver with an integral 6-disc CD changer.

YET ANOTHER MUSICBANK™
Nakamichi Mobile MusicBank™ changers have revolutionized automotive CD playback. The MusicBank™ changer has done away with the loading tray altogether, adopting a slot-loading mechanism that has brought a new level of convenience to car CD changer operation. Furthermore, successive generations of the MusicBank™ mechanism have brought about significant reductions in size and complexity. With the introduction of the MB-75, Nakamichi brings about yet another new era in mobile CD reproduction. Its innovative design will forever change the way most of us will play CDs in the car. Designed to fit into a standard single-DIN dashboard slot, the MB-75 incorporates not only the changer but also a full-featured AM/FM tuner and a 4-channel high-powered amplifier.

DIRECT LOADING MECHANISM WITH PARTIAL EJECT
Using the MB-75 couldn't be easier. Nakamichi's proven and highly refined Direct Loading Mechanism ensures convenient, reliable operation without magazines or trays. Worried about your CDs? Don't be. The MB-75's MusicBank™ mechanism handles them only by their edges, whether they are being moved or stored within the changer. There is absolutely no contact with the disc surface. There is even a unique Partial Eject feature for added disc protection and operating convenience. With conventional slot-loading players, pressing the eject button forces you to grab at the exiting CD. It's easy to inadvertently touch the playing surface. To prevent such occurrences, the MB-75 only partially ejects the disc. When you're ready to retrieve it, you simply give the protruding edge a gentle push. The CD is then fully and smoothly ejected, enabling you to secure it in the recommended manner by the center hole and the edge.

3-D VISCOUS SUSPENSION
Even the smoothest of automobile suspensions can't prevent shocks and vibrations from reaching a dashboard-mounted CD player. Accordingly, the MB-75 changer mechanism is protected by a sophisticated 3-D Viscous Suspension, which provides extremely effective vibration absorption in all directions. It prevents degradation of sound quality and virtually eliminates skipping and muting.

ANTI-ROLL SUSPENSION
What if you're dashboard mount isn't perfectly horizontal? With many in-dash CD players, you have to make cumbersome and time-consuming spring adjustments to accommodate non-level mounting. Not so with the MB-75. It incorporates an advanced Anti-Roll Suspension system that permits it to be mounted at angles of up to ±30 degrees from horizontal without any adjustment. Moreover, all disc position detection within the changer mechanism is handled by optical sensors. Disc change and transport functions are thus controlled with micron-order precision, assuring reliable, trouble-free operation.
