Listening to music in your car can be a compelling experience, providing your mobile audio system has the capability of wide-bandwidth dynamics, vivid stereo imaging and extraordianry musicality. To ensure the best performance from your system, a dedicated high-performance two-way speaker system is mandatory for proper reproduction of the critical midrange and high frequency response range for both front and rear channels. Your systems midragne response must be flat and the distortion low for it to create the most convincing reproduction of music. The SP-S5200 and SP-S6500 Separate Component Mobile Speaker System have been designed using the latest speaker engineering technologies, materials and of course Nakamichi engineering team's typical attention to detail. Two systems, one based upon a 5.25" midrange / woofer, the other on a 6.5" design. Choose the one that's most appropriate to the size your vehicle allows; the sound quality you'll experience just has to be heard to be believed! Combine these high-end separates with a Nakamichi head unit, power amplifier and subwoofer system for true state-of-the-art sound on the road! |
Mid-Bass / Midrange Drivers The Woofer/Midrange driver's feature advanced materials and construction methods. Incorporating ultra-light weight moving assemblies optimized motor systems and voice coils either model delivers an unparallel level of accuracy and resolution in the critical mid-bass / midrange region. The baskets are made of a revolutionary new molded non-resonant glass polyamide material. This advanced composite of resins and polymers is very lightweight yet highly rigid for maintaining lasting and consistent speaker performance year after year. The cones are made of a unique glass aramide composite material. This material exhibits an excellent stiffness-to-mass ratio and provides superior internal damping for extremely low-distortion performance under high-output sound level conditions. The cones are terminated to the basket with a butyl-rubber surround for extremely effective damping that's essential for a smooth, uncolored frequency response. Even the cone geometry is carefully optimized for controlled smooth frequency dispersion and the suppression of unwanted resonance's. The 25mm oxygen free copper wire voice coils are wet-wound and thermo-set at very high temperatures for increased power handling capabilities. A synthetic poly-cotton material spider is employed for increased suspension linearity and to maintain voice coil centering over extended periods of use. The use of a powerful high-grade Ferrite / low-Carbon Steel magnet structure ensures optimum flux levels are maintained in the gap for a lowered motor distortion level. Soft-Dome Tweeter The tweeter used in both the SP-S5200 and SP-S6500 component systems features a combination of a very low moving mass diaphragm and a powerful motor system. The 25mm low-mass textile dome maintains a proper balance of shape, weight and damping, resulting in incredible high-frequency detail, resolution and dynamics. The voice coil is wet-wound with the finest oxygen free copper wire that is thermo-set at high temperatures resulting in superior power handling characteristics. The motor system consists of a blend of Neodymium and low-Carbon Steel magnetic materials to maintain a high flux gap that reduces distortions and improves detail and transient response. The gap is filled with Ferrofluid to further minimize dynamic compression and decrease heat buildup. The compact tweeter comes with a useful hardware kit for installation on a flat surface, flush mounted or angled for proper propagation and imaging. Dual-Mono Crossover Designed specifically for use with the SP-S5200 and SP-S6500 series drivers, these crossovers employ the highest quality parts and 24dB/octave slopes to achieve smooth and phase-accurate transition from the systems lowest octave to the tweeters high-frequency extremes. Packaged as individual left and right channel networks, each crossover can be used in bi-wire and bi-amplifier modes. This flexibility provides for unique system configurations and high-performance in terms of lower distortion levels and the elimination of channel cross talk. Low-dissipation polypropylene capacitors and large gauge, low-dc resistance air core inductors are used throughout the network. The use of these costly components virtually eliminates frequency dependant distortions and power compression while enhancing definition, transparency, efficiency and superior stereo imaging. 24dB/octave filter topologies were chosen and utilized to provide a perfect blending and optimum frequency response between the midrange / woofer and tweeter within the unique acoustical environment of the automobile. Also, a tweeter output control provides three different settings in 3dB steps to accommodate a wide variety of installations and listener tastes. As a result, musical fidelity and clarity can be realized while a holographic image is created within the confines of the vehicles interior. |
